The Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey is intended to complement,
not replace transects, and enables records from a wide variety of habitats to be collected. Some squares will be rich in butterflies, others less so, but
all results are important. Taking part involves doing two 1km walks on two days in July and August. In order to do the walks the survey route
must be planned, and access permission must be obtained. For more information about this, see the WCBS guidance document produced by the UKBMS. |
